Dog Boarding
Dog Boarding in Rockville, MD & Northern VA - The Ultimate Staycation!
Looking for the ultimate staycation for your dog? You can trust Healthy Hound Playground's dog boarding kennel facilities to provide your best friend with a joyful, safe and caring environment to help reduce the amount of stress your dog experiences while you are away - while also having the time of their life making friends both two and four-legged!
Active, well socialized dogs will spend their daytime hours in our 100% cage-free Group Play Daycare playrooms with their favorite doggie daycare companions. Dogs that aren't candidates for group play will enjoy our Individual Daycare Program and receive extra one-on-one dedicated staff attention, extended outdoor potty breaks, courtesy treadmill runs, and our large, premium daytime cottages.
In the evenings, all dogs will enjoy dinner and a restful night's sleep in their own private cottage. A staff member is on-site at all times to make sure your pup is safe and sound, and snoring the night away.

Competitive Rates
Medication
- Please bring all medication in the original prescription bottle – (no meds in pill pockets, other food items, or in plastic baggies). We do not accept any medications that require gloves to administer, nor do we provide injections.
Multi-Dog Households
- Dogs of the same family are welcome to stay together in the same cottage, or they may stay separately at your request. There is no difference in cost.
Your Pup's Suitcase
- While we do provide our signature canine cots, it is often helpful for some dogs to have items in their kennel that remind them of home.
- Please feel free to pack a blanket, and/or your dog's favorite toy. We want your pup to have what he or she needs to be as comfortable as possible when in the kennel at nighttime. Leave your pup's nicer stuff at home - accidents do happen and fur migrates!
- Unless your pup is visiting for a longer period of time, kindly leave large beds at home.
- Make sure to label all of your pup’s items with their first and last name.
Mealtime
- Our meals take place at 6am for breakfast, 11am-12pm for lunch, & 7pm for dinner. We do not provide meals outside of these times.
- There is a $5 service fee for lunch only for dogs 1+ years. We are happy to make exceptions for dogs with health issues or who have difficulty keeping on weight! There is no fee for lunch for puppies under 1 year.
- Your pup will be burning far more calories staying at Healthy Hound than they typically do at home! If you're concerned about your dog losing weight make sure to adjust their feeding instructions accordingly.
- We provide all meals with high quality stainless steel bowls that are cleaned after each use.
- Please leave all dog bowls, measuring cups and can lids at home (unless you don't want them back!).
- If your dog uses a "special" bowl like a slow feeder - bring this! Make sure to label it with your pup's first and last name.
- Some dogs have sensitive tummies and owners may find it best to keep them on their own food during their stay.
- Please feel free to bring in your dog’s regular food in pre-portioned amounts for each meal you would like him or her to have.
- You may also bring in a large container of food, and indicate on drop-off how much you would like us to feed at each meal.
- We provide house food - 'Sweet Potato & Salmon' dry kibble by Nature’s Domain. No guest will go hungry!
Pack Introductions & Evaluations
At Healthy Hound, your dog’s Group Play introduction/evaluation will be on their first day of daycare, and other than the regular daycare cost, there is no extra charge for the intro service.
After you drop off your pup for their first day, we will introduce them into the playroom as soon as we are able. We stagger times for introductions so that we may give each dog the attention they deserve, to provide them the best chance of being successful at our facility.
A trained staff member will gradually integrate your dog with the appropriate pack. There is not a standard duration for an introduction – some dogs take only a few minutes, while others can take longer. After the introduction has occurred, and your pup has been given some time to adjust, you will receive a call from the supervisor to advise you on how things went. To ensure the playroom stays as calm as possible, we do not allow parents to view the integration process.
We can't wait to get to know you and your pup!
