Active, well socialized dogs will spend their daytime hours in our 100% cage-free Group Play Daycare playrooms with their favorite doggie daycare companions. Dogs that aren't candidates for group play will enjoy our Individual Daycare Program and receive extra one-on-one dedicated staff attention, extended outdoor potty breaks, courtesy treadmill runs, and our large, premium daytime cottages.

In the evenings, all dogs will enjoy dinner and a restful night's sleep in their own private cottage. A staff member is on-site at all times to make sure your pup is safe and sound, and snoring the night away.

Doggy Intro Options for Newcomers

Group Play Boarding

All new clients that schedule a board more than 48 hours in advance must kindly schedule a full or half day of daycare prior to your dog’s first stay so that we may introduce your pup into our pack. You may do this by scheduling a day of daycare in our online portal and adding the service "Intro Day!" (under "Additional Services") to their daycare reservation. If you have any difficulty scheduling, or if all appointments are taken, please contact the location to set up your appointment.

Individual Daycare Boarding

If you do not plan to make use of group play, and your dog will be a part of our Individual Daycare Program instead, please call or email the location to set up a time for a Meet & Greet with our Pet Care Staff prior to their upcoming board. This allows us to establish a relationship with your dog to ensure their first stay with us is as comfortable as possible.

Standby Meet & Greet for Last Minute Boards

If you have scheduled a board that begins in less than 48 hours and are unable to schedule an Intro Day for Group Play Daycare or a Meet & Greet for Individual Daycare, please contact the location to set up a "Standby" Meet & Greet if your dog does not have a history of bites or aggression.

A Standby Meet & Greet can be done at boarding drop off and may take up to 30 minutes to complete. You will be required to stay at our facility for the duration of the meeting. During this time our staff will assess your dog’s temperament to ensure we are able to accept them for boarding. Your pup will not be introduced into Group Play during this time. If your dog passes the initial meet and greet and is left with us to board, we will introduce them into the playroom at our earliest convenience after your departure.

We highly encourage parents to complete the Meet and Greet prior to the time of boarding drop-off, as we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accept your pup for boarding if we think we will be unable to safely handle your dog during their stay.

New boarding clients at our Rockville Location are welcome to make use of a free full or half day of daycare prior to their upcoming board.

Vaccines

Safety First! Please send vaccination records prior to your first visit. You may email or upload them to your customer profile.

As a gentle reminder, at Healthy Hound it is our client's responsibility to provide vaccination records to make use of our services. Our staff is not responsible for calling vets.

Rabies – Required for dogs over 4 months.

Distemper – Required for adult dogs. Puppies must have begun their vaccination series and stay current.

Bordetella – Required (6 month vaccine highly encouraged!)

Canine Influenza – Will soon be required!

Lepto – Highly Encouraged – Note: If your dog receives a 3 year Distemper/Lepto combination vaccine, the Lepto portion is only good for 1 year!

Spay/Neuter Policy

Females

We accept intact female pups up to 6 months of age for Group Daycare, Individual Daycare and Boarding. We accept intact females of any age for Grooming.

Males

We accept intact male pups up to 9 months of age for Group Daycare, Individual Daycare and Boarding. We accept intact males over 9 months for Individual Daycare and Boarding, but not for Group Play. We accept intact males of any age for Grooming.
